One of our primary goals is to promote our team to the highest possible league by addressing any gaps and making strategic investments in talented players. We recognize the European league’s reputation for developing young talent, and we aim to contribute to that legacy. We understand that numerous skilled players have emerged from Portugal’s renowned youth academies and have made significant impacts both domestically and internationally. Therefore, developing talent is a key objective for us.

By aligning our mission, goals, and aspirations with the rich footballing tradition in Portugal, we aim to make a meaningful impact in the league and contribute to the growth and success of the sport in the country.

Developing a strong soccer youth program requires careful planning, a focus on player development, and creating a positive and supportive environment. We strive to apply the renowned Portuguese Football Federation (PFF) methodology for the youth soccer program. Here are some of our plans to foster the growth and development of young soccer players:

  1. Quality Coaching: Invest in qualified and experienced coaches who have a passion for youth development. Ensure coaches have appropriate coaching licenses and certifications and regularly provide them with opportunities for professional development.

  1. Player-Centric Approach: Place the development and well-being of the players at the center of the program. Focus on individual player growth rather than solely pursuing team success or winning at all costs.

  1. Age-Appropriate Training: Design training sessions that are suitable for the players’ age and skill level. Utilize age-specific coaching methodologies that consider physical, cognitive, and emotional development.

  1. Skill Development: Emphasize technical skills, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control, as the foundation of player development. Provide regular opportunities for players to practice and improve their skills.

  1. Player Progression Pathway: Establish a clear player pathway that outlines the progression from entry-level programs to more competitive levels. Provide opportunities for players to move up the ladder based on their development and performance.

  1. Long-Term Player Development (LTPD): Adopt a long-term player development model that ensures a systematic and holistic approach to player growth. This approach considers physical, technical, tactical, and psychological aspects, adapting training to each stage of development.

  1. Holistic Development: Promote the overall development of players by emphasizing values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and respect for opponents, coaches, and officials. Encourage a healthy and balanced lifestyle that includes proper nutrition, rest, and injury prevention.

  1. Player Identification and Talent Identification Programs: Implement effective player identification systems to recognize and nurture talented players. This could involve scouting networks, open trials, or collaborations with local schools and community organizations as well as international youth club partnerships.

  1. Parent and Community Engagement: Involve parents and the local community in the youth program. Provide regular communication channels to keep parents informed about their child’s progress, development opportunities, and the club’s philosophy. Encourage parent education on supporting their child’s soccer journey positively. Extend this opportunity internationally by partnering with local clubs in other countries.

  1. Facilities and Resources: Ensure access to appropriate training facilities, equipment, and resources necessary for player development. Collaborate with local schools, municipalities, or organizations to secure suitable training grounds, access to indoor facilities, and equipment.

  1. Collaboration with Higher-Level Clubs: Establish partnerships or pathways with higher-level clubs or professional teams to provide talented players with opportunities for further development and exposure to higher competition levels.

We understand that developing a strong youth program takes time, commitment, and ongoing evaluation and adjustments. We will continuously seek feedback from players, parents, and coaches to improve the program and ensure it aligns with the club’s vision and goals
